The Grafton Academy of Fashion Design is delighted to announce the launch of a new Fashion Buying and Marketing Course.
The renowned Grafton Academy has eighty years of experience in fashion and is industry certified. This latest foray into Buying and Merchandising was developed in response to industry demand for a practical skill set. Our qualified lecturers have taken the elements most relevant to real-life industry scenarios and shaped a course that focuses on readying students for a career in buying and merchandising.
The Fashion Buying and Merchandising course aims to prepare a passionate professional in the act of buying and selling. The fashion buyer should know what the customer wants before they do and the role of a buyer is to execute the company’s plan of action while remaining customer focused so they must instinctively respond to market trends, their customer and develop a strategy that drives type specific profitability.
The buyer is essentially responsible for the success of their department. This course will endeavour to equip students with an in-depth knowledge of fashion trends, industry developments and forecasting ability.

Contact hours: 20 weeks, over 2 terms (10 weeks a term)
When: Monday and Tuesday evenings from 7-9 p.m.
Upon completion of the 20 weeks students will undertake an optional five week placement which will be assigned by their tutors.
