The overall aim of the Grafton Academy Workshop is to provide a learning experience to Transition
Year students who have an interest in pursuing Fashion Design at 3rd level.

The Fashion Design Workshop is based at 12 Richmond Row, Portobello in Dublin 8. The TY programme runs from Monday to Friday, from 10.00 to 16.00. During the workshop, the students are given a taste of the Grafton Academy college experience in real time alongside final year students making complete collections. They will see the scope of creativity and imagination involved in the journey to a career in the fashion industry.

We ask students to do a minimum of 2 weeks to ensure garments are completely finished which might not be possible in one week.
EQUIPMENT REQUIREDAn A4 pad, pen, pencil, eraser, plastic set-square (approx. 28cm on the longest side), tape measure, scissors, threads, dressmaking pins, tracing wheel, sellotape. Pattern making paper and bobbins are available to purchase at the Grafton Academy. Fabric, zips etc. is required for making up projects.
